FLIGHT
Aim: To learn about flight and aerodynamics.
- In your groups of 3 you will make a paper plane and measure its distance and behaviour.
- In groups of 3 you will make a water rocket and record its distance and behaviour.
4 forces of flight:
- Gravity
- Thrust
- Drag
- Lift
Paper Plane:
Material:
1.paper
2. clip paper
Steps:
1. Make a paper plane and paper clip on the front of the plane
2. Then throw the paper plane to see how far it went
3. Then take the paperclip off and throw it and see how far it went without the paperclip
Findings:
Plane Type
|
Distance
|
Behaviour
|
Normal
| 5m | straight |
Ailerons
| 5m | straight |
Paper clip | 5m | straight |
Conclusion:
The paper plane that was normal flew 5 metres in a straight line. The The paper plane that was ailerons flew 5 metres in a straight line. The paper plane that was paper clip flew 5 metres in a straight line too.

To support my learning I ask you to comment as follows:
1. Something positive - something you like about what I have shared.
2. Thoughtful - A sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what I had to say
3. Something helpful- how have you connected with my learning? Give me some ideas for next time or ask me a question.
