long jump

            Long jump

In long jump the key to getting the longest jump possible is running speed,
balance and angle of jump. These three things are the most important things
in long jump because something could go very wrong if you don't have these 3 things .

                                                          Running speed
If you don’t have running speed you will not have the momentum and you
will not go that far when you jump. Long jump is not about how strong you
are, it is about your momentum in running. If you don't have the Correct
speed you might jump off the wrong foot and collapse. More the speed
when you run helps you jump further.

                                                                  Balance
You need Balance because if you don’t have balance you can fall when you
land. If you don't have balance you could seriously injure yourself.
You could get disqualified by falling out of the sand area. You could also
get disqualified by not having balance and ending up having your foot over the line .

                                                               Angle of jump

You need the right angle of jump because you could jump straight up
and just land in your spot. If you jump Low you will only go a short distance
You can also jump a bit too high and go for height not distance.
The angle of jump you want to go in the middle of high and low .

  1. Hi Skye
Sorry for taking so long to comment on your blog but things have been a bit busy-crazy recently.
This is really good information about long jump, with some very useful tips on how to improve your performance. You should list your sources in your post (i.e. put hyperlinks to the websites you used or details of the books you've used). This is useful for two main reasons:
    1. It gives credit to the people who did the original work
    2. It makes your work credible (i.e. people won't think you just made it up).
Maybe you might like to do the same for another athletics event like shotput?
