Aim: To make a presentation that investigates different renewable energy's.

Section 1: Title Page

Make a title page that incorporates all renewable energy 's Hydro, Solar, Wind and Wave.

Section 2: Definitions

Define and provide a picture of each energy type.
  1. Hydro Energy
  2. Solar Energy
  3. Wind Energy
  4. Wave Energy
Section 3; Investigate each of the 4 Energy types.
( Hydro ,Solar ,Wind ,Wave )

  1. Type:
  2. Is it used in NZ ?
  3. Other Countries that use it?
  4. How is it used to generate electricity?
  5. Draw and label a diagram of the main parts of the electricity generator? This can be done on paper and uploaded or on a drawing program on your device. I do not want any Internet images or pictures. They must be hand drawn using a ruler and labelled.

Section 4: Renewable Energy in the future.

List 10 ways that renewable energy will be used in the future to replace our current activities.

What is Inferring?

Hi, welcome to my blog. Today I'm going to talk about what Inferring means.

Inferring is when, you find two bits of information and put them together to make one bit of info. Deduce or conclude something from evidence and reasoning rather than from explicit statements.

Here is my example of inferring in my own words:
So lets just say that a person called Emily, was going Skydiving, and that she was nervous but excited.

Why was she nervous? Is it because she was skydiving for the first time in her life. How I figured this out is because I looked at the first bit of info, that said that the girl Emily was going sky diving, and then it told me that she was nervous, so I thought that it might have been her first time sky diving.

Measuring weather

Measuring weather.

Definitions:

1. Anemometer: An anemometer is a device used for measuring wind speed and direction.
2. Beaufort wind scale: The Beaufort scale is an empirical measure that relates wind speed to observed conditions at sea or on land.

Anemometer
MATERIALS
1. Tape
2. Pin
3. Pencil
4. 4x Plastic dishes
5. 2x Wooded kebab sticks

STEPS
1. You attached the plastic dishes onto the sticks
2. Attached the sticks into a cross, cellotape together
3. Attach a pin to the tape and grab a pencil and make sure it goes through the rubber on the pencil, and make sure it spins

Groups size: 5

Roles:

Timekeeper

Counter

Recorder

Anemometer Manager

Wind Manager

Mount the anemometer in a place that has full access to the wind from all directions.
When the time keeper says "Go", the counter in each group will count how many times the marked cup passes them in one minute and write it down.
Repeat the above step four (4) times and record the number of spins on the chart.

Place name on school grounds  &  Number of spins in 15 seconds

1. Field - 11
2. Old J Block site - 0
3. Grass hill in quad - 1
4. Tennis Court gate - 0

CONCLUSION:
The field was the windiest spot in all four spaces because, there's nothing blocking the air from getting to the air anemometer. In the middle of the field there are no trees and the air can easily get to the anemometer.

The tennis court gate has 0 spins because, there are trees blocking the air from getting to the anemometer, the wind kept on changing direction.

The old J block site had 0 spins because the construction gate had little holes and the air was going in all different directions, and not towards the anemometer to count how many spins there were.

The grass hill in quad had 1 spin because its high up and there were no trees blocking the airs way to get to the anemometer.
